I purchased a used jb4 today from someone local and will be purchasing the spark plugs before the intall. Just running intakes for now and will decide between staying with 93 like I already do or switching to the e85 blend. When I picked it up today he mentioned that I needed to email burgertuning so I can link it to my car and this would costs somewhere around $150. Is this necessary? It was the first time I've heard that with the little bit of research that I've done. Any help and also other suggestions before the installation would be greatly appreciated.

If it’s just a standard JB4, that is a plug and play product, and there’s not link to the vehicle, and therefore will not require you to send it in to have anything cleared or anything like that.
