Had my recently purchased stinger into the dealership today for the anti-roll kit to be installed.

By way of background, I bought the car used about 3 weeks ago off lease from a company that had bought it for an exec and then terminated him. It's a 2019 GT Limited and had just under 2200km on it. Also had a full set of kia branded black winter rims and tires. Paid $24k CAD plus taxes.

I took the car into this dealership when I was buying it. the leasing company had agreed to cover any costs in terms of maintenance on the vehicle given it had been sitting in an underground parking facility for 15 months (and was not driven).

That bill was just under $1600 total. It needed a new $450 battery, full detailing, full service etc. At the time, I specifically asked them to inspect everything especially tires and brakes because if there was an issue the leasing company would be paying for it. After inspecting and safety, the Kia dealership indicated the car was in tip top shape.

Fast forward to today. I took it in to get the anti roll kit installed and I also wanted them to look at the brakes as they were shuddering a bit at higher speed deacceleration.

They original quoted me the list price for the anti-roll kit which was $765 CAD plus 1.5 hours of installation which was fine.

Once they started working on it today, they came out and told me they hadn't done this installation in awhile and it would be 5 more hours of labor as they would have to drop the rear lower sub frame.....

To top it all off, they also told me rotors on the car were warped and needed replacing, another $700.

Total was going to be about $2600 after taxes for everything.

I had a bit of a chat with the service manager (who was very nice) and they changed the rotors no charge and honored the original labor quote on the sway bars.

So what started out not great turned into a good experience.

Nice that they took care of you. I paid like 5.5 hours of labor (or something along those lines) to have both the front and rear sways installed. They said the rear is a bitch! rotors probably just needed to be turned. you should change the front pads to something better as well. Usually the rotors don't warp, the pads just leave deposits on the rotors unevenly because they are not a good compound. Lots of info on the forum about that.

Ya the screwed up on the labor quote. they sent me a written quote for 1.5 hours which is the labor for the fronts but wrote it was for the entire job. Their mistake. Fortunately they took care of it which I was very impressed with. Didn't hurt that they missed the brake issue in the first inspection.

I actually did read quite a bit about the brakes and suspected it was deposits on the rotors but they said they were warped and changed them for free. Maybe the deposits gave the rotors an uneven surface which they assumed was warping?

Either way I got a new free set of rotors which I can't complain about.

The rear sway bar is a bitch but can be done in place without dropping the subframe. I did it in my driveway on jackstands, took about 2 hours with about 30 minutes of it just staring at it to decide the best way.
Fronts are a piece of cake.
