Hello just a simple question

How do you tell which side is Bank 1 and Bank 2 please?

I get the code on Bank 2 many more times than Bank 1 and need to remove the dump pipes and fix the issue once and for all if my hunch is correct.

Is it looking at it in the bay or looking at it through the windscreen??

Much obliged and thanks in advance :)

I would say "passenger" side, but looks like you're down under where everything is upside down. ;)
"Right" and "left" are always in terms of the driver. Sit in the driver seat. What's on your right is the right side of the car. What's on your left is the left side of the car. In the Stinger (maybe all Kia v6s? I don't know), the right side is bank 1.

When looking at a V engine, the banks are offset - one side is further forward than the other, because of how the rods connect to the crank. The bank that is further forward is (damn-near) always bank 1. I'm not aware of a brand that does it differently, but it's always possible. Then (nearly) all brands alternate banks for cylinder numbering. So the furthest forward cylinder is #1. Switch to the other side and the forward most cylinder is #2. Switch back to the other side and the next is #3, etc. The big outlier is Ford, where they run down the bank front to back, then switch to the other bank, front to back.

Where are the dumps? Sensor 1 is the sensor right after the turbo. Sensor 2 is the one after the cat. It's normal for sensor 2 to get annoyed by exhaust changes, but sensor 1 shouldn't be affected.

Thank you my friend.

Oddball is correct is saying bank one is further forward. But another way to check is unplug one of the sensors to force an error and see which bank it says it’s on.
