The new Kia Stinger is already getting awards. It just overtook BMW for a top engine award.

The all-new 2018 Kia Stinger is a hot new model for the South Korean automaker and it just picked up a top engine award. Stinger has been named to Wards 10 Best Engines list for 2018. It’s quite accomplishment for Kia as it tops the list overtaking the 3.0L Turbocharged DOHC I-6 under the hood of the BMW M240i that won last year.

The Kia brand isn’t just about producing small economy cars anymore. The South Korean automaker is moving into new territory with the Stinger GT performance Sports Fastback. It competes with the Audi S5 Sportback, BMW 440i Gran Coupe, and Infiniti Q50.

The Stinger GT launches from 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds and has a governed top speed of 167 mph. the new Kia sedan is quicker than the performance-oriented 3.0-liter six-cylinder Porsche Panamera. WardsAuto says, “In the rear-wheel-drive Stinger, the 3.3L V-6 is quiet and smooth at idle but willing to bellow like a big V-8 under hard throttle.
