Has anyone else left stock lower airboxes in with bms intakes and big mouth rams?

Hey guys so I installed my big mouth rams and bms intakes but saw in one video the guy installing said leave your lower half of airbox in, now im just confused because after looking at people with the same setup as me online none of them have the stock lowers under their bms intakes. Is this setup im running below optimal or should i remove the lower half of stock box?'

The official BMS instructions have you leave the stock bottoms. https://www.jb4tuned.com/instructions/kia_stinger_BMS_intake_install.pdf

In fact, you can't install the heat shields included with the BMS kit unless the stock bottom is in place.
