Hi,

New to the forum and looking at getting a Stinger to replace my 2015 WRX. I've been looking at both new and used, but the Orange GTS caught my eye. My initial research lead me to believe that this was a limited run in 2019 and possibly 2020 with the D-AWD and upgraded sound system (but not everything included in the GT1 or GT 2 trims). But I'm seeing a couple of used Federation Orange Stingers listed as 2020 and 2021 with the GT2 trim.

- Was federation orange only offered as the GTS, or was it offered with other trims like the GT2?
- What exactly does the GTS have in terms of options. Does anyone have the brochure or other documentation?
- Is there any way to tell the trim from the VIN? One listing had a picture of the door plate which had a color code of N20, which does seem to be federation orange, and a Trim Code of WK, but I wasn't able to find out exactly what WK matches up to (i.e. GTS, GT2, etc).

Thanks

Howdy and welcome. I can start to help you a bit. The D-AWD Fed Orange GTS was 2019 only. Then in 2020 they issued Fed Orange in GT2 trim only, and the GTS in 2020 - as far as I know, every feature of the 2019 GTS the same in 2020 - was in Indigo (outside the N. American market, it's called Deep Chroma Blue). Both GTS trims are like a combo of the GT and GT1, with added D-AWD, of course. I'm not going to be able to be more specific on most of the details: but as I recall, they have the GT driving info screen between the tach and speedometer, not the more spiff LCD GT1 screen; and the smaller Navigation/media screen of the GT, and the nine speaker sound system of the GT; but they come with the sunroof of the GT1.

So I can add to this, or correct it lol.
Screen is the 8” in the GTS, sound system is the upgraded Harmon with Clarifi (15 speakers). The GTS was only available in 2019 and only in Fed Orange (800 total copies), but the color was available as 2020 GT2. (I believe Canada got the color in the 2021? GT Limited Edition which is basically a GT2). In 2020 the “Deep Chroma Blue” is technically a GT car (not GTS) but has all the same available options as the GTS of 2019 without the GTS designation (D-AWD if you bought the AWD version). There are only 800 GTS models in the US and only available in 2019, 500 Deep Chroma Blue in 2020. As far as I know 4 GTS have been wrecked leaving 796 up for grabs. To quickly determine which car you’re looking at, just look at the shifter. The “T” shifter is the GTS, the other is GT2.

Either one you get I think you’ll be happy with.
