3.3TT Grind/Clunk in the front end when shifting from R to D and tires begin rolling.

I think it's the pads shifting

I don’t think so. I tried it out today by doing the following.

1. Reverse while turning the wheel all the way to the left
2. Hold foot on the brake as hard as possible and shift to drive
3. Turn wheel all the way to the right without lifting the brake

And before the wheel got all the way to the right the sound happened and the wheels never spun forward. This, I think, is narrowing into suspension as Bron indicated was his fix.

Just to inject an added feature, when you rotate tires without moving you can rip the tread especially summer tires.
