Has anyone experienced issues with their transmission not selecting the gear correctly when shifting. I notice quite regularly when selecting drive that it stays in neutral so I go to take off and just end up revving the engine going nowhere. At first I thought I was just selecting drive too quickly or taking my foot off the brake before the transmission has shifted gear but it has also happened when selecting slowly and the foot remains on the brake. Reading a Car Advice website article today there was mention of this happening to their car as well when selecting reverse.

Is this possibly related to the cars shift by wire selector design. Am I doing something wrong???

I am not sure if this is the issue you are referring to. To get in gear, you have to press the button on your thumb when shifting. Just pushing the knob is possible only to neutral. Also, there are two 'clicks' when shifting, I think you need to engage all the way to the second 'click'.
