Genesis G70 Getting More Power With New 2.5-Liter Turbo Engine

I've been talking about this for some time, it is happening for sure. Now they can dump that 3.8 and use the 2.5T as their base engine in the G80 as a competition for the Germans but, I think they should boost the power a bit more.

Heh! I didn't even know that the G70 had a 2.0L trim. I bet the Stinger gets it too.

Oh, it most certainly will get the 2.5T. The Koreans can’t wait to ditch the 2.0T and the 2.4 due to all the issues and money it is costing them in repairs/replacements. The 2.5T will be a performance engine on the Sonata N-Line and Optima GT paired with one of their DCTs I figure, on the Genesis side, it should provide power for the G70/80 sedans and GV70/80 SUVs, when they launch. It will also see duty in Hyundai and KIA’s CUVs. Knowing how the German engineers work, they will squeeze out some more power for a higher performance variant in the future.

Now we can have great looking and performing Korean vehicles, get more go to match the show. LOL! Fun times ahead!
