Fully sealed intake boxes for K&N Typhoon intakes?

Has anyone thought about fully sealing the intake boxes for the K&N Typhoon intakes?

I've seen people wrap insulation shielding around the sides of the box and put extra weather stripping on the edges to seal better with the hood, but haven't seen anybody fully seal the box yet.

I'm in California, and the K&N is the only CARB legal intake for my year. I'd love to get the AFE Takeda intakes, but I'd rather not have to swap them out for the stock ones every couple years to pass smog.

That sounds interesting, I would love to see the results of a full seal.

I have had good experiences with my local shops, a few that will overlook things like modified intakes. That being said, if you do go with aFe Intakes or K&N Intakes, I can help you out with a discount!
