Hi forum folks, I went to Discount Tire today to replace all 4 tires on my 2018 with 22500 miles. Discount told me that even though they ordered the correct tire sizes (225/40 R19 front - 255/40 R19 back) they actually received 235/40 R19 instead of 225. The back size was fine. So my question is can I keep the 235/40s on front or should I go back and replace with 225/40 like the car originally shipped with. Thanks in advance.

The rear is actually 255/35. (a typo on your part?)

Ideal width on an 8" wide rim is 225mm to 235mm. So I'd say your chances are pretty good. But a 235 is going to trend toward oversteer compared to a 225. I found the 225 with OE sway bars to produce jabs of oversteer when I went in a bit too hot on a sustained right hander, coming downhill (in a canyon); so, with a 235 in front that would have been even more noticeable.

yes typo/brain fart. Thanks for the input. Discount being the great guys they are have told me that they will be happy to switch to the correctr size in 2 days when they are in stock. Thanks all!

235/40R19 vs 255/35R19 is only 1,5% difference but I would try to stick closer to max 1% difference. Especially since your rear tires will worn out faster wich will increase that %.

so 225/40R19 + 255/35R19 or 235/40R19 + 265/35R19 if you want more meat
