So this past Sunday was my father's 74th birthday and I took him on a little joy ride in the Stinger and he had a blast, especially launch control! I took him on about 5 launch controls, not back to back but over our hour's or so drive and I got a few "Woooosh-es", that or "Shhhhh**" :) and once, "Just like I would imagine taking off in an F-15 would be like!"

74 years old and grinning from ear to ear. He used to work on the radar systems of Air Force jets and when all was said and done, I apologized to him and said, "Sorry, this is the closest I could come to an F-15 (one of the planes he worked on (and on a side note, did you know that the F-15 was the first Air Force jet with enough thrust to weight ratio to go vertical upon take-off, fully fueled and armed?))." He smiled, eyes glistening and said, "Thank you."

That was very nice of you. :) It sounds like he had fun going fast in your Stinger. :p It sounds like he had a very interesting career - but I'm sure he's enjoying retirement now...

Please do me a favor, and thank him for his service - and let him know he can go for a ride in my GT2 AWD any time he would like!
