My exhaust guy suggested he just cut out my mufflers and add k&n air
intake. Any thoughts??
Did he also suggest cutting your springs with an angle grinder or hacksaw as well to lower it? No offence intended but I’d be looking for a new exhaust guy.
Don't buy the K&n filter, do the mod yourself. (very easy)
We have a mod section from what others have done.
cut off the mufflers... no. please don't do that.
There's quite a few people who have deleted their mufflers. It doesn't sound horrible. I'm sure it drones like crazy though.
OP, to see what it sounds like with mufflers deleted check out Tork Motorsports YouTube. Or Google "Kia Stinger muffler delete". That should give you a good idea of what it will sound like.
Thank you. Love the great comments from previous guy. Not.
Will it create a check engine problem?
Thank you for your help
No it shouldn't. There are no sensors back there.
Other than sound, I wonder if there's any benefit given the restrictions further forwards..
Absolutely. People have dyno tested muffler deletes, and exhausts with evc closed vs open(similar difference as muffler delete) and saw 5-10HP+, and 10-20TQ+. Besides the cats I think the huge kinked stock mufflers probably are the biggest restriction. Not to mention you drop 20-25lbs!
