I have finally found a way to quickly and reliably turn forward safety off, my most hated "nanny" system. I love making it go away.

So, was driving into San Antonio this afternoon and decided to try ECO mode. 15 miles on I10 with a gentle downhill and the cars average mileage steadily climbed to 33.6mpg. Wonder what it would do on a level interstate with minimal traffic so I could use cruise control w/o interference?

The manual does say reduced performance in ECO. It really dumbs down the engine but it still has plenty left over to deal with interstate traffic. Having said that, I leave it in Sport for almost everything short of interstates. Don

I have never used straight up Eco, not once. But I do use Custom almost all the time, which I have set to Comfort steering, Sport suspension and Eco engine. Yes, the mapping of Eco is sludgy compared to Sport, but theoretically I get to maximize gas consumption while still having fun. :D Also this: if you hit the kickdown switch, it doesn't matter what mode you're in, it's all WOT.

That's what I would expect.

I only have 900 miles on it and haven't had the road or traffic conditions such that I've gone beyond about half throttle. Even that shoves me back in the seat. LOVE the engine. Don
