I know the v6 has an eco mode. Does the 2.0 have one as well? Can anyone report on fuel consumption yet for either one? I typically use eco mode when on the highway since I'm less likely to need to change speed. And it seems that if I need to go fast for any reason full throttle takes you out of eco automatically.

On most cars, ECO simply remaps the accelerator response. Rather than a more linear response as you depress the pedal the first 50% or so only increases the throttle 25%. However, it begins to make up what it delayed after that point and by the time you have the pedal floored you will be at full throttle no matter what driving mode you are in.

I tried to use eco mode in my optima and got worse gas mileage. I'm pretty sure I just pushed the pedal harder to make up for the computer telling the car it wasn't pushed as far as it was..
