Long story short, I bought a gt2 2019 today and at start I adjusted my seat just fine, kept adjusting it throughout the day.

When I finally got home, I tried the previous owner memory seat settings which worked fine.

But after setting my own, I go to use it and suddenly the seat refuses to move and now I am unable to move it forward/backward recline etc. nothing would work besides lumbar support.

I tried disconnecting the battery and that only made it worst
As now the steering wheel only adjusts in and out, doesn't go up and down anymore

Very weird, the car has 40k miles/60k km on it.

Doesn't feel like motor issues as they worked pretty fine just before. Unfortunately I can't try the kia reset method as that would require you to move the seat to begin with.

Anyone experienced anything similar after messing with memory seats?
I am taking to the dealership but they're closed for 2 more days.

You could check to see if you blew a fuse? Look for disconnected wire harness? I agree that to go from everything working to abruptly nothing working is highly unlikely to be a hardware failure.

I checked the fuse today with a multimeter and it was bad, I swapped the passenger seat fuse with the driver and it worked. So thats a relief and an easy fix.

Not sure why it popped to begin with, could be an issue with previous owner memory seat settings, i just new ones.

As for the steering telescope, now thats a different issue. It stopped working after disconnecting the battery. I doubt its a fuse as it does retreact backwards/forward but not up and down. (You can hear the click when you initialize but nothing moves)

I'll have to look into it, could be as simple as resetting something. (I'll try the "Driver position memory system reset" sequence later and see)
