Door jambs peeling

I noticed while I was getting into my car that the strange film in the door jamb was peeling because the door had caught it in the very bottom and tore it up and continues to make contact with it when it’s opening and closing. I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. There’s no paint where the door hinges are it’s bare metal covered in some weird layer of almost like a plastic.
