DIY Intake??

I've seen several comments about a DIY yourself intake, also seems this DIY intake uses the exist airbox...maybe??

Tried to do a "search" and didn't find much.

Could someone please explain this DIY intake?

DIY means "do it yourself". There are various versions - just search the DIY intake thread for pictures. I just installed mine - Spectre filters ($20-30 each), 2 Spectre elbows, 2 Spectre stainless heat shields. Total cost, just a bit over $100. A bit of work to make it fit.

If you want a 100% ready-to-go-no-thinking-needed, don't DIY, but buy an existing one.

This thread has explanations and a lot of different examples of peoples versions of the DIY intake. DIY intakes w/Heat shielding drop about 0.2sec off 0-60

There’s also a couple more threads discussing this and a lot of info on this forum about them.
