I generally avoid dealers at all costs because I don't have the patience for the ridiculous amount of time everything takes and the continual mistakes and misinformation.

Well, the paint on the roof rails is peeling, badly, on my '18 blue stinger. Easy, right? Known problem. Go to the dealer, service dude takes pictures, says "Yeah, we see 'em, don't sweat it". It'll be a week or so before they can work on it. I go about my merry way.

Then he calls me today and says "Hey, my parts guy says they only come black and can't be painted, so it was some kind of oversight for why yours was ever painted. They should have been black."

Seriously. They have a black, white, red and GTS on their lot.

So I call him back to share a bit of knowledge and leave a message. Then he says he has to do more research......

If they sold them pre-painted then I'd just buy them and be done. Hell, I need new bumpers anyway, might just buy them and have a shop I actually trust paint everything.

Blech. Had to vent.

This has come up several times. What about wrapping the strips? I don't think that trying to match the Blue would work out, but you could look around. But wrapping them in dark/black chrome might look pretty nice.

As curbinator suggests... wrap it (and the entire roof) gloss black.

it’s clear Kia f’d up with the paint. Between all the respects and now the drip rail covers. Wrap it and run.
