So I had a moment of weakness last week and I kind of blindly bought the Protective Paint Plan from the dealer. It has a 5 year warranty.

But it was raining pretty hard and I am scheduled to have it done this week. But now I have had some time to look into it and I am not sure what their process is. I am going to call them but wanted to see if anyone had any experience with this. Is it dealer specific? Any suggestions as to what questions I should ask them?

I am thinking they probably sub contract it out but who knows.

thanks!

Sorry, can't enlighten. But I can add sympathy. "Misery loves company", the saying goes. I only got the repair plan that fixes minor road damage, as long as the individual blemish will fit under a business card. It cost $800, iirc. Never used it. And lost it when I did the lease buyout. So, eight hundred bucks down the drain. What would they have done anyway? I am confident in saying that they would have touched up everything with a touchup pen/brush and called it good. And yes, it was an impulse buy on my part.:p

How much are they charging you? ask if they give lifetime warranty if the coating peels off or a bird drop still damages the underling paint. Better if DIY for example Car Pro UK 3.0 an amazing ceramic coating for like 60 USD.

Ok, so after looking closer and finally getting an answer. I paid $595 dollars or $8.26 month for the next 72 months to NOT let them put on this:

Ardex clear coat with Teflon. It is applied once and cured for 6-8 hours.

I am not sure if this is a dealer specific thing or not. It is my own fault. I got excited after getting a good price on a car I really like. It sounded good but I should have been prepared. I am not even going to get it and there is no way I can get my money back.

I found a local place that was recommended by my local body shop. They will do Ceramic Pro, 3 coats. Will take 3 -4 days for $845.

Anyone with any experience with Ceramic Pro?
