I picked up a Sunset Yellow GT AWD from Cumberland KIA back in April. I knew I wanted it before I went in. I had a 2016 Sorrento. After a few weeks out of town for work, I brought my Sorrento in for an oil change. While they were doing the change, I started asking about the Stinger. I pretty much said that I want it and don't want to put anything down. They made it happen. I wasn't very privy to pricing and what was going on, but got a 36Mo 30k lease for around 38k. If I knew what I know now, I would've haggled for a lower price, but mind you this was in April... When the Stinger was still a fairly new car. I also had a little negative equity in my Sorrento.

But what I really want to do is call out how great the service department has been for me. Of course it all started with the paint issue. They had an in house paint and body shop that did it. Not the best result from all I've seen, but certainly acceptable so I decided to keep it and take the cash. A little bit of a mismatch between the metal and plastic parts, but I've seen pictures of untouched ones from the factory that had the same or worse contrast. During the process, I was out of town for about 8 of the 10 weeks (I work in fire and it was the middle of fire season). They were very accommodating with my situation for loaner car. After the repaint, I asked if they could change my badges and they did free of charge with zero fight. I did the big Stinger script in the back and 'E' in the font. Looked great.

After the repaint while driving home (I live about 30-40 minutes away) I noticed a scrape on the inside of the windshield right in the center of my field of view. I brought it in a couple weeks later to show them, and they discovered a crack just above it, also in the inside. They immediately said they would do a warranty replacement but had to get approved by the Kia rep, who showed about 10 days later and approved it. I figured I'd bet right around 3k miles when the glass showed up and decided to also get an oil change then. Asked them about getting some all season tires and they told me they could but to shop elsewhere but have them shipped to the shop, because their pricing wouldn't be as good. Appreciated the honesty. I ordered the tires and had them delivered.

I dropped the car off this morning around 9am to get everything done. They said 2.5-4 hours and gave me a loaner car. I drove around town and did some shopping since I was in the "big city" compared to where I live. I came back around 11:30 and sat around. Around noon, Susie the manager, told me that the proper tire press to swap the tires and not damage my rims (guess it's a size thing) was out of service, but the oil change was almost done. She offered to call around other local shops, but I told her I would just come back when it's fixed since they were the cheapest ($60 for all 4, balance, and TPMS) and would prob do the best job. 10 minutes later she said the Toyota shop next door might have the right press to do it and they were gonna check. 30 minutes later, a different guy came out and apologized and said we would have to wait for their shops press to get fixed. They ended up covering the oil change, which is at least a $100 value, and said they would do the tires for free when it gets fixed.

I really appreciate them for this. I've never owned a car I loved like this Stinger. They know I have a decent commute to see them and have been very fair and accommodating. Not sure if they treat all of their customers this way, but they have been great. I know they don't deal with too many stingers, I'd say 5-10 tops. It's a pretty rural area between larger cities where the demand isn't as high. Also, the saleswoman I bought the car from was very excited to see me and we had a pleasant conversation... She wanted the yellow stinger, but her husband wouldn't let her haha.

Nice write up. Good news stories are what good dealerships are after.

Oooh, your up in Crossville? I'll have to keep an eye out for you when I am out and about! (I'm in Spring City).

Nice to know the Cookville dealership is good, as I'd either end up there or at Kia of Chattanooga for work on the vehicle.

Right on! I'll be looking for you! Unfortunately she's all locked up in the garage for at least a few weeks, gotta go to CA and help with fires... so don't expect to be seeing me any time soon!
