I recently needed to rent a car and chose a 2021 Kia K5 (same control positions). My Stinger is a 2019 and thought it would have the same connectivity as the as my car. Boy, was I wrong. I have an iPhone and of course use a USB to use the app on the phone (maps mostly). On the K5, the bluetooth connection accessed all my apps on the iPhone, no cable required! As this is simply a bluetooth software point, I wonder if they'll offer this on ours as an update?

The MY21 K5 and Sorento are the only models offering wireless Carplay as far as I know. Upgrading to wireless in older cars would require new headunits or other hardware upgrades which can be pricey. You can get various USB to Bluetooth adapters for your car and enjoy the same experience for about a hundred bucks.

FYI; I found a Carplay wireless adapter that works really well; it's called Cplay2air. It is not perfect but very good; well worth the $130 for me. 1620999607068.webp
