Best wheel/tire combo set up for daily Extreme conditions?

I'm looking to purchase a winter rim & tire set up for the White Zombie. I live in the Sierra Nevadas @ little over 6,000 ft. Any one driving daily in extreme winter conditions that's tried some winning combinations yet?
