I live in the Arizona dessert where the 115+ degree heat will kill standard car batteries after 2 summers.

I was hopping some fellow stinger owners in the desert can tell me how the AMG battery in the stinger holds up to the heat.

Also, worst case scenario. will hooking one of those rechargeable jump start packs to the jump point at least provide enough power to pop the trunk (be very nice to at least avoid having to remove kids seats and crawl through the back)?

Thanks in advance.

They make rechargeable jump battery packs powerful enough to turn over a V6 engine, I have one (my prior car was also a V6). The only maintenance is remembering to top of the battery pack twice a year, they do slowly drain over time. You can find them adding "V6" to an amazon search.

[*anecdotal experience alert*]My prior car was 3+ years old, two of them in Vegas for a full summer, and it also had an AGM battery. No signs yet of premature battery failure when I traded it in, but I can certainly believe they won't last as long. [/anecdotal experience]

This site claims AGM are much less susceptible to heat related issues: Summers Heat Temperatures Affect Car Batteries | Northeast Battery Blog.

I can recommend the audew 20000 mah jump pack.. has started v8's and even small diesel tractors.
