AWD or RWD

I think that's a good summary - the RCF was more of a luxury car, the ISF felt rawer and more exciting.

I suspect the curb weight difference (~200kgs, depending on specs) was a large part of the difference between the two, despite, as you noted, the power differential - ~350kW for the RCF vs about 310kW for the ISF.

Which cars have actually implemented that?

One more company is Acura. There SH-AWD does torque vectoring with overriding speed on rear wheel. IMO it is best (at least one of the most well) designed AWD systems.

Lexus stayed truer to their luxury ethos rather than the performance aspect of the car.

They just made a track edition of RC F. So I guess now they want to focus on performance as well.

Maybe... I think it is gimicky. The base RCF gets a lot of updates that the Track Edition gets. It uses the same previously used rubber, engine, and transmission (go-fast parts). They also opt for a Torsen LSD over the torque-vectoring LSD for the sake of "feel." This is one reason I say it is likely gimmickry because it was chosen just so you can drift the thing more easily. I think that $30,000 for 5 horsepower and a weight loss of ~180lb is a bit steep and also likely gimmickry. A lot of OEMs will tart up an aging or end-of-life model with "exclusivity" trims to build some hype back into the brand. For $100,000, I am sure that there are far more suitable track weapons to choose from that would destroy the RCF on a track. I wish it weren't so...

I am glad that Kia gives many options and trim levels with the Stinger and with each, the ability to make it AWD. As power levels continue to rise and the technology matures, I may make the switch to the AWD platform. Until then, wider rears are going on to help compensate.

Hopefully the GTS AWD system will end up as the default AWD system in later model years. With any luck it will be an easy job to swap the rear diff and AWD tune into older Stingers.
