Anyone have an issue with the power lift gate not closing?

I put some stuff in my trunk, not a lot, and put the items in the middle of the trunk. I push the button to close the hatch. It goes all the way down, but then starts beeping and opens back up. I then rearrange the items in the trunk and try again, but it happens again. This happens 4 or 5 times until it closes. Any idea what is going on? Sometimes though, the trunk works fine, but usually when it is empty.

Have you had the rear hatch rattle fixed? They put washers behind the side latches to fix this noise, and if they put the wrong size in (or one too many) the hatch will often refuse to close correctly and behave the way you describe.

Mine was diagnosed at the dealer as a bad latch. The part is on order and should be in on Wednesday. My liftgate kept popping back up after each attempt to close it with the power buttons.
