I was contacted by a company that builds CF steering wheels. As our discussions haved moved forward i wanted some feedback from those here on the forum. Especially those considering a CF steering wheel.
I recently had one custom made for my 2019 C7 Corvette Grand Sport from a company called Zen Carbon Fiber. Based out of Texas, they do amazing work at very reasonable prices. They are worth looking into.
I wouldn't mind the bottom section CF, as both our Stingers have the lower left corner abraded from getting in and out of the driver seat. The leather on the OEM wheel feels great but is easily scuffed.
Top of the steering wheel... I still prefer leather, which breathes and won't burn your hands even when very hot. Here in Texas, even with a good windshield sunshade, the top of steering wheel still gets awfully hot in the Summer sun.
The answer to your question is, of course, more vendors the merrier... for us the owners. The vendor would want to gauge the customer base potential, and likely demand. That I don't know.
More choices are always good for consumers. Not looking for CF steering wheel, since I already have one (VERY nice esthetic upgrade). But really wish for someone to produce CF doors for weight saving or CF driveshafts for increasing efficiency. Most likely won't happen though.
