I recently picked up a '22 GT2 AWD coming from a '19 Golf R. On the Golf I had a second set of wheels that I kept, and want to see if they would fit on the Stinger with adapters and if that was a dumb idea.

Golf R wheels: Konig Ampiform 18x8.5 ET43 5x112 (66.6mm bore)

I know the Stinger wheels are 5x114.3 so I would need adaptors to go to 5x112. I'm thining these would essentially function as spacers as well, so I *think* a 20mm would be about right. since that seems to be the amount most run on rear stockers here which are ET46.5 IIRC.

I've done the willtheyfit calculators and all looks fine. Just want to double check before I order things.

I've done a lot of reading on here over the years about wheels fitment. My personal feeling is to avoid any adaptors. It's just another set of parts to make fit. A wheel should just slap on over the hub, put the lugs on and torque. Done. But, if you have the wheels and the adaptor equipment isn't expensive and you want to see, sure, you can make them clear the Brembos and struts. Will they run smoothly and stay tight, those are the questions.

Nice color, one of the Tribute colors too.

You're correct that the rear is virtually identical, going from +46.5 to +43 offset on 8.5" wheels (3mm or 1/8" further outboard). A 20mm spacer will leave them pretty much flush.

In the front, you are going from 8" +34 to 8.5" +43. That means adding 1/2" or 12.7mm, which is 1/4" or 6.35mm inside and out, then shifting inward 9mm or ~1/3". Net result is the inside edge of the wheel moving inward ~15mm or ~0.6", and the outside edge of the wheel moving inward ~3mm or ~1/8".

A 20mm spacer will also work on the front, but as always, going to matched front & rear tires will leave the fronts ~6mm or ~1/4" inward of the rears, so if you care about that slight difference you could go 20mm rear and 25mm front spacers.
