This looks like a possible exhaust upgrade to improve the sound and possibly performance of the stock 2.0L model exhaust system. This would require welding.
The proposed mod is to cut out the very tiny stock mid muffler and insert performance slim designed muffler or resonator. This photo I have edited shows the idea.

Seems like a simple and affordable possible solution to improve the sound and exhaust flow with the designed left and right rear mufflers.

I think I'm going to try this. Just have to get some dimensions to order either the HD-2 or the Vibrant resonator. I'm leaning towards the HD-2 but I'm not sure if there is enough clearance for it.

I searched the forums and didn't find results for proposed modification.

What do you guys think?

I'm going for it.

I'm going with a Flowmaster Super HP-2 12" (2.5" in and 2.5" out) to be added to the mid pipe.

MS Paint rendition of what I envision. I will give this photo to my exhaust guru to modify mid muffler section and unnbolt/remove the stock rear left and right mufflers.

The new pipes will be be aluminized steel 2.25" coming out from the Y right after the new muffler and run back to quad tips and use the existing exhuast tips on the Stinger. The new rear aluminized seel pipes will be painted with high temp flat paint for extra corrosion protection and looks.

Cost will be $410 for the exhaust work + about $125 for the muffler.

Not cheap but hopefully will be a cool custom set up. I can't wait to see and hear it. :)
