I was wondering if it's possible to change the shifter in the '22 GT1 to the one within the '22 GT2. I don't really like the current shifter, as it gives me more of a "Mustang" shifter feel. I also don't think it matches the interior of the car. I really want to change it out, if possible, to the GT2 one but not sure how to go about this. Anyone have any thoughts?

The problem is that the GT2 doesn't just have a different shift knob ... it has an entirely different mechanism for shifting; The GT2 uses a shift-by-wire system while the other models use a shifter with mechanical linkage. Thus to get the GT2 shift knob, you would have to replace the entire shifter mechanism and all the supporting parts (quite expensive).

What you can do is change the shfit knob to a different Hyundai/KIA knob (you may need to modify the knob and/or file new groves into the shifter arm in your car). The last generation of Optima looks pretty decent, its a T handle with chrome and leather on it. Other popular options are Telluride/Forte shifter, or Hyundai Velostor. Here is a post already started in the forum about it: Changed non-electronic shifter knob to Hyundai one

I put a 2019 Santa FE knob on mine:

Thanks! I LOVE the Telluride one, but nervous about shaving things down. The Santa Fe knob looks simpler, but just looks a bit skinny for a sports car. I'll shop around to see if I can find videos about switching the knob to the Telluride, but if I can't, I might see if I can get someone to do with it. I just don't trust myself not messing it up
