I posted this in the "How much did you pay" thread, but realized it probably belongs here.
I went to a dealer today and got an offer for a 2019 GT2 AWD (didn't realize it has summers and I need all seasons, but regardless). They offered $47,333 including the 2k/2.9% (which he claimed was only good up to 60mo, not 66mo, and even showed me the book with the offers and it said 3.9%). The MSRP is $53,240, so it's a discount of $5,907. Unfortunately he offered me about $2500 below blue book for my trade (it's a manual Gen Coupe, so between stick and RWD, it's kind of a niche car and he claims will be tough to sell). Is that a good deal, other than the low trade offer? He seemed genuine when he said he was putting it all on the table, but maybe he's just well practiced in bluffing. I could always ask about getting a remote start and cargo tray thrown in, which are both options I want but aren't deal breakers.
I also have an appointment with another dealer who claimed he wouldn't be beat on price, but they're also farther away from me. I actually pass the first dealer to get to the second, by about 20 minutes (basically twice as far). So I'd prefer doing business with the closer one, but I guess I'll need to see what kind of deal the other dealer can do.
I also got some offers for my trade from Carvana, TrueCar, AutoNation, and Vroom, for between $1300-2900 more than I was offered today. So worst case I can always sell my car to one of them. Obviously trading is simplest though.
On a separate note, I test drove a 2018 GT2 (they didn't have any 2019s on the lot), and it was my first time driving a Stinger.....oh man is it nice. My Gen Coupe is 300hp, but I put my foot down in the Stinger and it was off like a rocket. Fortunately the salesman wasn't in the car so he couldn't use my joy against me.
